Cottage Policy & Local Amenities

Reservation and Registration:
Reservation can be made online. Full Amount is due 6 weeks prior to arrival. $600 Security Deposit is required, which will be refunded after confirming the checkout status and no damages (please refer to checkout section for details).

 Recommended personal items for preparing the trips:  Sandals, Beach Towels, Sun blocks, and Mosquitoes Sprays.

Entrance is on the left (river) side of the cottage.  Key is inside the front door lockbox. Please enter the code provided, and press the lever to open the lockbox.

 Staying Policy:
      Shoes Off inside the house please, for both upper and lower floors.

 Guests are expected to respect neighbours. No loud music, no loud outside talking between 11PM to 7AM.   

Pets are not allowed. Extra charge will apply if clean up needed after pet staying.  Smoking is not allowed inside the house, outside is ok but please make sure to dispose cigarette butt safely.

Washroom usage: please flush only decomposable items, to avoid inconvenient clogging during your stay.  Non-decomposable items can be put into bin beside.

 A gentle reminder for all guests:  Please sleep in between the two white bed sheets, which we change and clean after every guest checkout.

Call us for any damages or service interruption. Often damage could be repaired with minimum effort or cost, when it is reported soon enough. So we appreciate you let us know as soon as possible. This also allows minimum interruption on your enjoyable stay.

Sofa bed on upper floor:  To transform into bed, pull and lift the 2 red straps beneath the front seat, pull out the extended seat.  To change back to sofa, pull and lift the 2 red straps, push in the extended seat.

Cleaning tools:  Vacuum, Mops and broom are stored in laundry room on the second floor. 

 Garbage bags are under the kitchen sink.

BBQ grill:    Household BBQ grill is made available but please following all the safety procedures.

Lighting instructions: The BBQ grill is equipped with built-in ignition. Prior to operation, please turn on the propane tank valve.

Please shut off BBQ propane valve after usage.

BBQ propane:  Usually the propane tank is already pre-filled, and with a backup tank beside..  If all used up, can be refilled at ‘Esso’ gas station just a few minutes away: go back to hwy12 and turn north, drive a couple minutes, “Esso” will be on the left hand side.


At cottage front. Please watch out for the hydro metal bar on lawn, and the light pole.

Swimming and Lake Access:

 In the lake only.  DO NOT swim in rivers / lagoons, which are for boating only. 



  Public Beach and play ground: 16 Poplar Crescent, Brechin, 

  Lagoon city beach (Yes it’s for you exclusively!):  1 Poplar Crescent, Brechin.  You need to bring a blue wrist band to access the beach. One is good enough for the whole group.  The blue wrist band is located at the cottage entrance.  Please return them back after, as if lost, replacement costs $25 each. Broken one is ok and please return it for free replacement.

 Please bring sandals and your personal beach towels. And remove all sand before getting back into the cottage.

CheckOut Time:  12PM.


CheckOut Condition: Cottage to be left at the same clean status as Checkin, with all dishes washed, fridge, stove, and oven clean, BBQ burner grids are to be brushed and clean, Propane tank Valve shut off, BBQ grill is covered, and all garbage/compose/recycles taken away. 

Cleaning fee might apply otherwise.


    For long term residents (over 1 week):  Please combine the garbage into one big bag, and place it by the curb Monday night.  Same for recycles.  It's collected Each Tuesday morning.  One bag will be collected for free. Extra bag needs stickers which can be purchased at Township of Ramara for $3 each.
    For short term staying guests (less then 1 week):  Please take away all garbage and recycles upon checkout.
Upon checkout, please make sure all machines (washer/dryer/dishwasher etc.) have stopped. No more running water.  All lights are turned off.  AC turned off (using the Fujisu remote),  and

       Set all heat themostats to 13’C:

               Second floor total 7:  3 in bedrooms, 1 in washroom, 1 in laundry room, and 2 in living room;

               First floor total 5:  1 in bedroom, 1 in washroom;  and 3 knobs on ground baseboard heaters by turning the knob off  (Counter Clockwise)

Lock the garage and the front door, put the key back to the lockbox,  scramble the code and slide up the cover.
Management will take care of the linens and bath towels, but please don’t color / stain them, else there might be a charge.

 Fees for extra guests / extra services:

$20/person/night  for over 6 persons;

$5/bag of garbage if left behind.

Parts & Labours charges apply for all damages.

Garbage Dump:
Mara Landfill Site,  Mon-Wed 8:30am-4:30pm & Sat 8am-4pm.  Closed on other days!
